Lesson Policies

Attendance/Cancellation Policy

   ·  Any cancellations, conflicts or scheduling issues must be communicated by the parent.
   ·
In the event that a lesson needs to be rescheduled or canceled, advanced notice is appreciated at the

beginning of each month so as not to add any confusion to the billing process.
   ·
If advanced notice is not received before the 20th of each month, the full rate of the lesson will be  charged, except in the case of an emergency.
   ·
Rescheduling will be at the availability and discretion of the instructor.

Payment Policy
   ·
Invoices will be emailed on the 20th of each month reflecting all lessons, music purchases and additional services for that month. The only exception will be the month of December.
   ·
Payment is due by the last day of the current invoiced month.
   ·
Please make checks payable to Megan DeLaura. Cash or online bill pay is also accepted.

Lesson Materials Policy
   ·
Students are expected to bring all necessary lesson materials (lesson books, sheet music, staff paper, pencil, water, etc) to every lesson.
   ·
Students may reimburse the instructor for sheet music purchased, or may purchase their own music.

Practice Policy
   ·
Individual practice policies will be determined by the instructor, based on the student's age, level and personal goals, in an effort to satisfy expectations for each lesson.
   · Daily, disciplined, organized practice sessions are necessary for the full benefit of lessons. For example, 15 minutes of practicing "well" is more beneficial than one hour of "just playing or singing".
   · Students preparing for an audition should practice more than the recommended practice regimen.

Observation Policy
   ·
Parents are welcome to observe lessons anytime they wish with the student's permission and the understanding that this may be an unnatural situation for some students.
   · Students may not bring friends or siblings to their lesson unless previously approved by the instructor.
   · Parents may call or email to discuss the progress of their child at any time.
